About us

 A training room at The Training Centre

The Training Centre is a new facility developed in Stone, right in at the Heart of Staffordshire, located just off the A34, less than 10 minutes from junctions 14 and 15 of the M6. The room is ideal for Training Courses / Workshops and Meetings, with seating for up to 20 people in a flexible format.

The Training Centre is the home of two leading businesses, abv Training Limited - specialists in the licensed trade and hospitality industry; and Allo Business Solutions - a virtual reception and business administration provider for small and medium sized businesses.

The room is divided into a relaxation area, with café tables, high stools and a hot drinks machine using freshly ground coffee beans. The training / meeting area is furnished with adjustable leather chairs and tables that can be set up in a variety of configurations. Natural light makes it a really conducive environment.

Equipment Options

The Training Centre offers the very best for all those who organise and run training sessions and business meetings.

  • large white wall for use with dry wipe markers - great for group interaction and brain storming.
  • moveable whiteboard screens.
  • Flip charts with paper pads - wall fixed and portable.
  • ceiling-mounted data projection display linked to a computer with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • computer linked to speakers to show DVDs and play music.
  • an interactive slate which brings PowerPoint to life and allows facilitators to create electronic flip charts.
  • "Presentavote" interactive pods which allow delegates to answer multi-choice questions - just like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". They are also ideal for market research.

Car Parking

 The Training Centre

Plenty of Free car parking spaces are available on the main car park opposite the Training Centre. Car Parking spaces will be reserved for disabled guests. Parking is not permitted in the numbered spaces immediately outside the centre. There is easy unloading close to the front door.

Option 1: Day Delegate Package - £19.50

An all inclusive package which includes:

Option 2: Room Hire Rate

The Room Hire Rate may be more appropriate for you if you only require a half-day or evening session. This is a flexible alternative to the Day Delegate Rate and can be tailored to meet your specific catering, equipment and refreshment needs.

Food Options

We are more than happy to discuss your requirements and every effort will be made to provide a catering package that exactly meets your needs. Please note that, under normal circumstances, clients are not allowed to consume their own food and beverages within The Training Centre.

There is a choice of buffet menus below which are provided by Country Stores of Stone.

Bronze Menu - £ 6.25 per person

A selection of sandwiches on white / malted bloomer with various fillings including: Mature Cheese, Chicken / Bacon / Mayonnaise, Ham, Egg Mayonnaise (all to include salad)

Savouries: Quiches, Pork pie, Spring Roll, Crisps

Silver Menu - £ 7.75 per person

A selection of sandwiches on white / malted bloomer with various fillings including: Prawn in Mary Rose Sauce, Roast Beef, Mature Cheese, Salmon, Spicy Cajun Chicken (all to include salad)

Savouries: Quiches, Onion Bhajees, Cheese and Tomato Twist, Crisps

Gold Menu - £8.95 per person

A selection of sandwiches on white/malted bloomer with various fillings including: Venison; Spicy Zinger Chicken; Pheasant (all to include salad)

Savouries: Chicken Goujons, Bombay Potato Slice, Spicy Vegetable Samosas, Mini Mixed Savoury Lattices, Tortilla Chips

Ploughman's Platter - £5.25 per person (minimum of 6 people)

French Stick Style Bread/Butter, Slices of Beef and Ham, Mixed Green Salad, Liver Pate with Cranberry Sauce or Pork Pie, Mature Cheddar & Blue Cheese, Chunky Sweet Pickle, Picked Onions, Sausage Rolls

General Business Services

  • Fax: Outgoing £0.50 per page, incoming £1.00 per page
  • Photocopying: 15p per sheet
  • Typing a letter / report: £2.50 per 15 minutes (minimum charge £5)
  • P.A. Services: £9.50 per hour
  • Mobile Bin: we will look after your phone and take your calls - 50p per call taken (no calls, no charge)
  • Exam invigilation: £25 per hour (or part thereof)

Booking Terms and Conditions

Provisional Bookings

Provisional bookings can be made over the telephone via fax or by e-mail. Provisional bookings will be held for a maximum of 15 days. Any bookings not confirmed within 15 days may be released without notice. All bookings are provisional until confirmation is made in writing and payment of the booking deposit (£50 per booking) has been received.

Confirmation of Bookings

Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of written or e-mailed confirmation and payment of the booking deposit which is non-refundable. When written confirmation has been received the booking terms and conditions have been accepted. Written confirmation of the booking must include:

  • Date(s) of the booking
  • Estimated number of delegates and Facilitator(s)
  • Preferred room layout
  • Package required
  • Lunch and refreshment requirements
  • Equipment requirements
  • Any additional requests

Exact Numbers & Requirements

Notification of the exact numbers and specific requirements must be made as early as possible and no later then 24hours before the start of the event. For Day Delegate bookings and food orders any reduction in numbers received within 24hrs of the start of the event cannot be accepted, and non-arrivals will be charged as quoted. Any additions to the confirmed numbers will be charged pro-rata.

Final Invoices

A final invoice will be issued once calculation of final charges is completed. Unless credit facilities have been agreed in advance, payment is required upon departure.

Change of Date

Once a booking has been confirmed, any change of date may result in forfeiture of the booking deposit whilst every effort will be made to accommodate changes in date, the provision of the room, equipment and other requirements cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be confirmed in writing or by e-mail. If a cancellation is confirmed at least 4 weeks before the scheduled event date, no cancellation charge will be incurred. If a cancellation is confirmed within a period of 6 weeks for scheduled event date, the following cancellation charges will apply:

  • Less than 1 week before event date: 100% of total estimated charges.
  • 1 to 2 weeks before event date: 75% of total estimated charges.
  • 2 to 3 weeks before event date: 50% of total estimated charges.
  • 3 to 4 week before event date: 25% of total estimated charges.

Cancellation charges will be determined from the date that written confirmation is received and will be payable upon submission of a final invoice. Total estimated charges will be based on the confirmed booking numbers and all pre-booked facilities, such as Room Hire, Catering & Equipment.

Insurance

The Training Centre is fully covered by insurance however we accept no responsibility for any activities organised by those hiring The Training Centre.

Hirers must ensure Public Liability insurance is arranged to cover any claim that might by made against them in respect of any activities that they are responsible for or any equipment they use during the event.
